Hello/Goodbye

Hello everybody. Wow, it has been so long. Stupid computer upgrades.
This is a bittersweet post, as I am saying hello and goodbye at the same time.
All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go,
I am standing here outside my door. . .
Hmm, sounds like similar lyrics to an old, but familiar song.
The long and short of it is that Oak Leaf Forest is closing down for a few months. All the residents are heading out on vacation.
The construction of Willow Ridge has also been put on hold as Builder Sam is busy with one of her children who has just had a major surgery and will require a couple of months to recuperate.
While I am waiting, I can show you some of the little changes that have occurred around here.
Due to major computer issues (namely, Builder Sam's computer being too old to be upgraded and Blogger's changes locking us out from the blog world) we moved the school computer right next to my realtor's office. (This is where this post is coming from.)
(However, if random French words or math equations suddenly appear on screen, it can be attributed to one of these programs logged on this computer.)
WAIT. . .
I hear a familiar sound. It is very distinct. . . it's the groaning, wheezing sound of time-ancient machinery. . .  Vrreeeow-vreeeow-verrrow. . . .
Yes, it seems my ride is materializing. Better grab my bags off the porch.
Well, it is great to see you all again. I will see you all somewhere down the road.

…Huh. So it's smaller on the outside. Hopefully it will be bigger on the inside.
Time to go.
Cheerio,
Isabelle

Post-apocalyptic Barbieland fallout - Meet Sindy

Hi everybody!
The last post seemed to cause a little distress. A number of readers were very concerned about the welfare of Barbies due to the conversion of Barbie-land to Willow Ridge.
To reassure everyone, I invited Sindy, the realtor for the Middle doll community, to give you some information.
(You know, in hindsight, it would have been a lot smarter to have met at her office! I forgot how big the Middle dolls are!)
With a little creativity and the moving of furniture, we made it work.
I would like to introduce Sindy. She has been a resident of Oak Leaf for about 37 years! Sindy is one of the original "Barbie" sized dolls that remain from Builder Sam's childhood.
Hello!
(Geez, thanks Isabelle, now everyone knows I am the old lady around here!)
I look pretty good for a nearly forty year old doll huh? Anyway, I just want to assure you all that the Middle doll community still exists and continues to thrive! We have not been eliminated or packed away. "Barbie-land" was just an overflow town, created for play by human children.
Thank you all for being so concerned about our welfare! We have more than enough room for our homes and recreation.
Well, I hope this allays your fears as Willow Ridge begins its transformation.
Merry Christmas to all.
Cheerio,
Isabelle and Sindy

Mystery Solved: Meet Hazel!

"Eyes are perfect! No more eye patches." Some of the most beautiful words spoken to me today by Dr Zoe. I don't have to be a pirate anymore!
I stopped by the new medical office to see how construction is going.
Dr Zoe was happy to show me around. First we looked at the ground floor pharmacy.
Then we headed upstairs to the reception area. . .
. . . as well as the waiting room.
While Dr Zoe was showing me her office I looked out the window and I could see Builder Sam's desk.
I could see the new house and I asked Dr Zoe if she knew anything about it.
Looking out the window Dr Zoe exclaimed, "Yes, that is Fairy Hazel's house."
"Who is Fairy Hazel?" I asked.
"Fairy Hazel is one of my mentors. I will introduce you if you like."
I never thought about the great Dr Zoe having a mentor. We walked over to meet her.
Hazel May is the first fairy that I have actually met. As per usual, I was speechless in her presence. I stupidly asked if she was coming to Oak Leaf Forest to live and she said 'yes'. (Why else would you have a house built here?)
Hazel is having this house built specially as she is just a little bit too big for the 1:12 scale properties. She started to show us the house.
"Crystal wings!" I inadvertently blurted out when she turned around.
"Why, yes!" said Hazel. "All fairies have wings. I have crystal ones."
"Oops, I'm sorry. I have never seen such beautiful wings up close before," I lamely said as I turned bright red.
"That's okay, dear," she said, giggling. We toured the cottage and marveled at the use of recycled materials.
Hazel has plans for a big stone fireplace so that she can roast marshmallows from the comfort of her couch. "The ideas you have for this house are absolutely wonderful!" I said.
Hazel May is extremely elegant and moves with such beautiful grace. I was totally enamored by her.
The highlight of our meeting (and the most dangerous!) was sitting on the roof looking at the view and chatting for a while.
Hazel is rather eloquent and a great listener. She is a wonderful mother figure.
Finally, the great mystery is solved!

Isabelle

Ahoy There Me Mateys!

Ahoy everyone.
Arrr - No, I'm not actually a pirate!
Remember how I was seeing double and I thought that I had some eye problems? Well, I met with Dr Zoe and it turns out that I do!
I have - well, I cannot really remember the medical term for it, but in simple layman's terms I have "loose eye-putty syndrome" which caused one of my eyeballs to fall back into my head. Yes, I know, it does not sound pleasant.
I had a minor operation and now my eye is back in place. Dr Zoe said that I have to wear a patch for the next few days to strengthen my weak eye.
All I could reply was "Aye, aye!" Yeah, I know, kind of lame, but kind of funny too!
"Excuse me, Isabelle?"
"Oh, hi Luka. Come in. I was just telling my readers about my eye."
"I just want to do a quick photo bomb and say hello."
"Sure, why not."
"Hey everyone, it's Luka here! Happy Batman's Day!"
"Batman's day? Oh good grief! Boys!!!!"
 Bye everyone!

Isabelle

New House

Hi everyone. I am back!
Builder Sam has been working in the boiling hot garage making a house from scrap wood. Rumor has it that she is building an unusual structure for a VID (Very Important Doll).
Hmm, that is weird. Builder Sam said that she was going to build a special house for me, but it hasn't happened yet. I decided to go and ask Mr Nova. After all, he is the building inspector and he should know who this house is for. I found him asleep on the job as usual.
I was about to wake him when I noticed what I thought was someone entering the new house.
Wait a minute, there was someone there!
I saw them peek out the window.
And then, just like that, they disappeared!
I went over and checked the house, but no one was there. How very strange!
Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me.
I have been experiencing a lot of double vision lately.
Now I know for sure! I think I will go and see Dr. Zoe immediately.

Cheerio,
Isabelle
