Tea Room Update by Luka

Hi everyone. It's Luka here.
Isabelle is away at the moment, so I thought I would give you a quick update on Bessie's shop.
The windows have been installed as well as the porch, and I think they both look great. Love the earthy colors!
Bessie told me she loves the garden, and is very happy with it.
We found a tree that will not grow too big and it is perfect for the front yard.
Now it's time to continue renovations on my own house!

That's all from me,
Luka

Tea Room Progress - part 2

Now that the interior of Bessie's tea room is completed, the exterior work has begun.
The shingles have been installed and are waiting to be stained. (Yes, the builder glues them on the roof first, and then stains or paints them afterwards. Not the recommended way of staining shingles – it's just a Sam thing.)
Luka has been working alongside the builder making sure that the foundations are properly cemented, and that the rocks and pathways are being placed according to plan.
Here is Sam's work table with Bessie's shop.
A wooden frame was found at a thrift store to enclose the base of the property. Due to the frame being slightly longer than the land, an extra couple of inches were added with no additional cost to Bessie.
Because of the extra acreage, more cement had to be poured and left to cure.

Tea Room Progress - part 1

Bessie wanted a friendly, homey, kind of feeling for the interior of her tea room. She chose cream colored wallpaper, and a dark stained floor.
The interior trim was stained to match the floor. The stairs have been completed and installed.
Upstairs, a skylight was added to let more sunlight into the room.
Electrical and plumbing will come next.
It is rather exciting seeing everyone's buildings progressing.
If the current rate of work being completed  stays on pace, then I will be enjoying coffee and cake very soon!

Cheerio,
Isabelle

From Blueprint to Building

I have been quite busy lately doing research for my list of clients and their various needs. I found a few interesting plans that might be suitable for Bessie's Tea Room, so I asked her to come into the office to discuss some possibilities.
When she arrived, we began looking at all the different blueprints.
After looking through the plans, Bessie settled on one particular design; the Kotton Kandy, by The House That Jack Built. It is a one-and-a-half story structure that would be adequate for her business.
It was estimated that it would be a few weeks before construction would begin, but it turns out that the builder was able to start straightaway.
The Tea Room begins. . .

Cheerio,
Isabelle
