Kinsey and Dr Zoe here again!
We want to let everyone know that Bessie says thank you for all the good wishes. Dr Zoe accompanied Bessie to the re-shelling hospital where she has settled quite comfortably. She will undergo a six month rehabilitation program.
Since I have been named the chief property manager, I am going to make a few changes around here. One of the very first things is this blog.
Dr Zoe and I have been talking about this, and we have decided that we should probably start a new community blog. It does not feel right to continue on with Isabelle's blog without her.
We decided to call our new blog "Urban Elves". Catchy title huh?
Join us over at urbanelves.blogspot.com
See you all there,
Bye from Kinsey

Kinsey here . . .
Hi everyone,

At first I was very worried, but Builder Sam said that Isabelle would be fine. I have been named the new "Chief Property Manager" until Isabelle's return.

I have to move the Small doll community to Willow Ridge. It does mean a big increase in pay, which is a good thing.

However, this is a HUGE undertaking. It is not like I can just sit with my feet up on the desk. Although, that does sound like a good proposition, especially since Isabelle is still enjoying herself on vacation.

And YES, I have my feet up on the desk. Miss Isabelle, if you read this. . .COME HOME.

As much as I would like to rest, there are a ton of things to be done around here.
For the past few months, I have received strange letters and packages from Isabelle.
Apparently some post offices have been holding these letters for many years with strict instructions to deliver them in the year 2016.
Isabelle writes that she is having a wonderful adventure with someone named 'The Doctor" and states that she would arrive the day after she left. The only problem is, that date has come and gone. Very strange. I am worried that something weird is going on.
I consulted with Builder Sam, and after looking through the artifacts, she said that Isabelle is traveling with a 'Time Lord' through time and space.

Package from Clarabelle
"Mail is here," yelled Kinsey from the door.
"What are you doing here when you are supposed to be on vacation?" I asked. "I thought you were going skiing."
It was a rather lengthy letter letting me know how she is, and what she has been up to.
"I am currently enrolled in culinary school and I am loving it. . . ."
Wow, my sister is becoming a cook! She has one year left of her apprenticeship and is hoping to come out and see me when she is done.
". . . Inside the box you should find a wallhanging that I had custom made by the famous blacksmith, Eleboril. Hopefully it will make you smile. Loving hugs and kisses, Clara."
Cheerio,
Isabelle
"Yes, I am on my way," said Kinsey. "But I had to come by the office to drop off some keys. It looks like you have a package."
"How exciting!" I exclaimed. "All we usually get is bills."
It was from my sister, Clarabelle!
"Well, I will be on my way and I'll let you enjoy your mail. See you next week, Isabelle."
"Have fun Kinsey, and don't break a leg!" I jokingly called as she disappeared through the door.
I sat down and began reading.
I sat down and began reading.
"My dearest sis, Issy,
How wonderful it is to hear that you are well settled and have a job as a property manager. Congratulations! I always knew that you would do well. . . ."

I could hardly wait to open the big box.
When I opened it, I saw the most incredible wall sculpture and tears sprang to my eyes.
As young elflings, I would always draw a house very similar to this. I said that one day it would be my castle that I would live in forever. I cannot believe that Clarabelle remembered and had it reproduced! This is so special to me.
I will definitely hang this on the office wall. I really miss my sister.Cheerio,

Birthday Card
It was Sam's birthday recently and she received a hand drawn card from one of her children. How amazing is it? It has all of us Fairyland folk on the front with one of Sam's favourite chocolate bars. I can see Rosalie on top, Dr Zoe and Luka on the left, and Kinsey and I on the right. I think we look rather cute as manga characters!

And The Walls Came Tumbling Down
Kinsey and I sent word out that a group of volunteers were needed to help with some home renovations.
Cheerio,
Isabelle
A group of very muscular guys showed up.
Introducing – The Dream Team!
And what a good looking crew too!
After we explained what needed to be done, the guys began working. Nothing seemed too hard or too heavy for them!
And before you knew it, the walls came tumbling down.
We may have to enforce a dress code in the future. Yes, plaster work is messy, but those bulging muscles are somewhat distracting! (I actually thought that Kinsey might pass out!)
The crew posed for a group photo, and Kinsey thanked everyone for all their hard work.
The guys said that they would be willing to help out in the future if we needed them. We may just take up their offer!

The Kinsey Blues
Kinsey has been looking rather depressed lately.
"What's the matter Kinsey?" I asked.
"Nothing," was the reply.
Now as everyone out there knows, when a female says 'nothing' it really means 'everything'.
I made some coffee, grabbed some cookies, and I told Kinsey that we were going to have a good chat.Kinsey told me that she is feeling down about her living conditions. Although she is very grateful for having somewhere to sleep, this is not her home. What makes it worse is that she actually owns a house, but cannot live there right now.
Kinsey lamented that the renovations are taking way too long and Builder Sam is nowhere to be seen.
Actually, I know why.
Sam has been spending a lot of time with her mother who is visiting from Australia. Judging by the amount of DVDs lying around, I know that they have been watching a lot of movies.
I told Kinsey that I would pull a few strings to get things moving along with her house, and that seemed to cheer her up. Now I just need to get busy and find some willing volunteers.

Adventurer's Club - February
The theme for the Adventurer's Club photo challenge this month was 'Local Attraction'. Since winter has almost obliterated everything interesting around here, a quick trip to the local McMiniDonalds located in Barbietown was in order. (You have to admit, this restaurant is extremely well known!)
Yes, the 'Golden Arches' even exist in the doll world!

Photo Challenge #3 - Candy
Fairyland Elves are known to crave lots of sugary sweet things. (You might say that we suffer from a popular human condition known as 'sweet tooth'.) Kinsey, Luka and I went to see the second Hobbit movie, and we purchased a meter long tube filled with candies to last the whole three hours. It was rather delicious!
I guess we did look a little funny carrying around this amount of candy!

Kinsey's Roof
Kinsey had an appointment with Mr Red, the building contractor, to examine her house for any needed repairs.
First Mr Red checked the foundation, which was solid and structurally sound, and then he climbed a huge ladder to examine the roof.
Kinsey is rather pleased that her house is well built and that the only changes needed, are cosmetic.
Cheerio,
Isabelle
First Mr Red checked the foundation, which was solid and structurally sound, and then he climbed a huge ladder to examine the roof.
"Hmm, it is not looking particularly good up here," said Mr Red to Kinsey, who was standing down on the ground below. "The roof is very old and the shingles need to be taken off and replaced. I think you should come up and take a look."
Kinsey bravely climbed up the very tall ladder.
She could see immediately that Mr Red was right.
"Unfortunately, the shingles used on the main section of the roof are of very poor quality. As you can see, they have not held up over time. I suggest that you go with a good quality shingle and it should last a lifetime," said Mr Red.
The roof was even worse on the back side of the house where more shingles had fallen off.
Looks like a new roof is on the agenda!
At least there was some good news. The tower roof was well constructed and the roofing material was in excellent shape.
Cheerio,
Isabelle
