2015 and Some Ice Sculptures

Hi everyone! Happy New Year.
Builder Sam has been busy with family from Australia for the past six weeks and has not been able to do any construction in Oak Leaf Forest.
Sam took me out to see some ice sculptures, as I think she was feeling rather guilty for her absence.
Can you believe that the sculptors start out with a solid block of ice and just carve away bits and pieces until something magical emerges?
Even with all my realty skills, I doubt very much that I would be able to sell this ice house! Too cold!
Although very pretty, the ice was also VERY slippery. (And yes, I did fall once!)
I can soar with the ice eagle!
Wherever you are, stay warm!
Cheerio,
Isabelle

  2. Just stunning..I am always blown away by how they can take a block of ice and whittle it away into a preconceived masterpiece...amazing! Sorry, you fell once though ;)

    1. Hi Farrah,
I am also amazed at what people can create with a chain-saw!
Fortunately I didn't get hurt (or scratch my face paint) when I fell. Sam did manage to get an epic picture of me tumbling to the ground after checking out the ice house, but I did not want top publish it.

  3. Those ice sculptures are amazing! I have seen some before (after all, I am in a state that has lots of snow and ice!) but I too am amazed at what can be done with a block of ice!

    1. Hi Phyllis,
It is funny how humans CHOOSE to live in places that have snow and ice. At least they make the most of it and find creative ways to enjoy the harsh elements. Ice sculptures are pretty neat.

  4. Hi Isabelle,
How beautiful the are, you are very lucky that Sam took you to see them. They are all very unique, but my favourites would have to be the diamond ring and the eagle. Let Sam know we missed her and it's good to see you back posting once again.
    Hugs,
    X

  7. Ah Isabelle! It looks like you and Sam had quite a bit of fun on the ice! :D The sculptures are all so detailed and look especially good with the sun shining through them. Seems that it was a fun day! :))

    1. Hi there Elizabeth!
We had a really fun time at the park, although it was a little cold. (Let's say, 'freezing' was more like it.) The temperature was 9˚F (-12˚C) so we didn't spend too much time there.
It was extremely interesting to see and be able to touch the sculptures.
